To profit fully from the cabriolet body style, a system for occupant protection in the event of rollover is included as standard safety equipment on the 207 CC.

207cc roll bar system The system consists of active roll bars and windscreen pillar stiffener tubes.

Located just behind of the rear seats, the two small chromium-plated arches contribute to the dynamic styling of the 207 CC, but also play a discreet role as bodyguards.

When a critical situation is detected by the electronic control unit which analyses the information from the angle sensor and the speed of rotation, in less than 25 micro seconds the ECU gives the order to the pyrotechnic system to release the springs holding the roll bars in position.

The roll bars are then deployed in 175 micro seconds over a height of 200 mm.

As for the windscreen pillar tubes, they are firmly anchored in the A-pillar reinforcements.

Note: The pyrotechnic system for the front seat belts is activated simultaneously with the active roll bars.

Then we have the ABS and EBFD

An ABS system (anti-lock braking system): During emergency braking, the ABS system prevents any risk of wheel locking and thus helps you better control any loss of grip.

207cc stability control systemAn Electronic Brake force Distribution system (EBD):

The Electronic Brake force Distribution system optimises the vehicle's stopping distance by distributing the brake pressure over the four wheels, depending on the vehicle's grip and the load.

A Brake Assist System (BAS): The Brake Assist System (BAS) provides, in the event of sharp braking, extra assistance which amplifies the braking pressure and reduces the stopping distance to a minimum.

ESC (Electronic Stability Control): A standard or optional feature depending on the version, ESC ensures control of the vehicle's stability within the limits of the laws of physics.

It also provides:

- Anti-Spin Regulation (ASR): Anti-Spin Regulation acts on the brakes and the engine control system to limit wheel spin in the event of loss of grip;

- Dynamic Stability Control (DSC): this system constantly compares the information transmitted by the steering wheel sensor and the yaw sensor so as to detect any incipient understeering or oversteering. In such cases, within the limits of the laws of physics, it places your vehicle back on its initial trajectory.

ESC can be disconnected, to ensure a certain amount of traction in difficult situations, and is reconnected automatically above 50 km/h (except on certain models, such as the 207 RC, in order to meet the needs of experienced customers).
